Till death do us part

This blew me away!
Such a GREAT idea for the best wedding ever (IMHO lah).

My man went absolutely nuts over it. LOL.

For those who live, eat, breathe and dream of it, this will definitely make you go “WOW!” and leave you gasping for air from the excitement of seeing such raw passion so cleverly planned and executed.

One Flaw

Received this from a certain someone (you know who you are) and decided it deserves a spot in this space.

Also, it’s Thanksgiving today.

Women have strengths that amaze men…

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don’t take “no” for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.

Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

However, if there is ONE flaw in women,
It is that they forget their worth.

This is dedicated to all the wonderful women I know and love. Without you (us), there would be no world.

How awesome is that, huh?

Poorer but happier

3 weeks ago, I relocated my battlefield to a new space. However, it lacked a proper support mechanism.

I didn’t like what I’ve seen so far and I know for sure there’ll be no compromise when it comes to proper support (the pain from years ago still haunts me today!).

So, when I was told that some really good stuff will be available a few weeks down the road, I was willing to wait. Oh yes,  I sure was willing to wait.

So, I waited. And waited. And waited.
Today, the wait finally came to an end.

This was delivered to my doorstep shortly after lunch today.

Don’t let the hard look fool ya. It’s actually¬†mighty comfy – for the butt & most importantly, for the lower back. The ergonomically-shaped back definitely provides the support my once-injured back badly needs.

Am sure you’re wondering why I didn’t get¬†the leathery or cushiony type. Well…

Simple reasons:

New Love : Bokbunja

Posted in Drinks with tags , on November 24, 2009 by eleenpor

My latest love.

Korean Berry Wine.
Discovered it last weekend during my maiden visit to DAORAE.

Introduction to Bokbunja:

  • A long time ago, an old man went into the mountain to get some wood.
  • He found some fruits which looked so delicious and ate them.
  • After that, he had an increased libido and active bladder.

Some interesting titbits:

  • Bokbunja is an alcohol made from strawberries, and the fallen leaves of the Hwalyup tree.
  • From¬†June to September, Korean women will go into the mountains to pick these leaves and fruits.
  • It should be kept in a sealed vessel and must not let the air in.
  • After 2 or 3 years, ¬†the drink is considered¬†at ¬†its best matured taste.
  • It is said¬†to be¬†good for sexual potency.
  • During the making of Bokbunja, men couldn’t get in there. Only women could get in and work.
  • It’s also called stamina alcohol.
  • Ingredients: Citric Acid, Apples, Sugar, Fibrous Maerial, Ash, Vitamins.
  • Medicinal Effects:
    – Bokbunja can be used to help men who have impotency, premature ejaculation, urinary problems and hyperactivity.
РWoman may also use it to combat impotency, to help promote healthy skin, vision and to maintain a healthy liver.

Source of above information found here.

When the news of my latest love reached the ears and knowledge of a certain someone, he promised a bottle all the way from Seoul.

In another 2 weeks, I will get to taste some really authentic stuff.
Can’t wait!

A for Amazing

Posted in Dedication with tags , , on November 20, 2009 by eleenpor

I have wonderful memories of my Uni days. Many, many firsts. Waaayyy too many! LOL

Happy to say, some of the friendships forged during those days were lifetime friendships. Even though we have all moved on (some have moved away to distant lands), we still keep each other in a small corner of our hearts, never to be forgotten.

Today, one of those special person is celebrating her birthday. And I’d like to dedicate this space to her today.

She’s one of those few folks who’d dream big and not be afraid to tell the whole world about it. She pushed herself (including me too!) hard and wouldn’t settle for anything less than a first class honors. I learnt many important Life lessons from her and for that, I am forever grateful to her.

Today, she has moved to a faraway land (where crazy dreams come true!) to pursue her dream and her love. I am extremely happy for her that she is living life so freely and so richly.

However rare, our communication (be it¬†over¬†FB or email or¬†text msgs)¬†always give me a warm tingling all over and I’d be smiling for the rest of the day.

Here’s a picture of a very hawt & sexy librarian doing the can-can.
(hope you don’t mind that I snitched it off your FB album, galfren…hehe)

Happy birthday, Ali!
Make sure you have a blast today and paint Arrowtown red, eh!

*lotsa hugs & love*

Walk with me

I don’t mind inexperience.
I don’t mind ignorance.
And I most definitely don’t mind mistakes
(but not repeated ones though).

What I DO mind –

… is stubborness
… is inflexibility
… is lack of initiation
And most of all, I do mind negativity.

So, please.
If you think that the whole world owes you a big one and everything good should fall straight into your lap, it’s high time you wake up to face the real world.

Yes, reality sucks that way but guess what?
All the imperfections give us the opportunity to fill in the gaps and make it right again.

If we are calibrated, let’s walk this path together. I promise to hold your hand and guide you through it all. As long as you promise to hold mine and walk with me with our heads held high.

To quote John F. Kennedy :
“Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”

Same concept, ya?

Rekindled passion

It seems like an eternity since I last cooked a decent meal (instant noodles and fried eggs are not considered ‘decent meals’, mind ya).

So over the last 2 weekends, I spent some quality, rebonding times in my kitchen.

1st session: Beef lasagne

(inspiration from here)

Beefy Goodness

Granted, t’was not picture-perfect but let’s just say my man and friends were grinning and rubbing their stomachs contentedly by the time the last¬†morsel was polished off.

2nd session : Dirty rice

(inspired by my favourite chef from his Louisiana Gumbo & Dirty Rice episode)

Dirty Rice

Also, I was reminded of my one & only experience with Creolean food¬†from my Austin trip in early ’08.

However, I must give credit where it’s due (all I did was¬†share the recipe, dig out my supply of basmati rice and offer complete access to my kitchen).

A hawt woman came over on Sunday morning and while my man and¬†I slept off¬† the previous night’s bingeing, the babe¬†whipped¬†up this¬†dish¬†from¬†my kitchen (she insisted!). Yes yes, I know how lucky we are to have such great friends.

You can bet your bottom dollar on more passion-bonding in the coming few weekends.
